Students now have the opportunity to make a seamless transition from community college or another four-year institution to the University of Maryland while staying in Montgomery County.
About the Program

If you are dedicated to studying life sciences and prepared for rigorous coursework, then the Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences is the program for you. With comprehensive coursework, challenging lab activities, and hands-on applications in this undergraduate program, students prepare for higher studies in specialized fields such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Optometry, Physical Therapy, and Public Health. In addition, this degree also serves as a stepping stone for research or development in the biotechnology industry.

The College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biological Sciences with an area of emphasis of Physiology and Neurobiology at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG). Admission is competitive and limited to students who have completed the prerequisite coursework. All classes are held at the Universities at Shady Grove in Rockville in Montgomery County, Maryland and are taught by exceptional College Park faculty.

It is it is highly recommended that students from two year institutions earn an Associate's Degree prior to entering the Program. Note that the Program will no longer be admitting students in the spring semesters. Students will only be considered for admission for the fall semesters.
