Shady Grove: Admissions and Financial Aid

Admission Requirements

The Shady Grove campus accepts transfer students who typically have about 60 credits of lower level course work completed. Note that up to three of the below prerequisites may remain uncompleted when entering the Shady Grove program with the exception of Principles of Biology I and all four lower level chemistry courses. These can be completed during your studies at Shady Grove by enrolling in courses at either Montgomery College (or other transfer institution) or the University of Maryland, College Park main campus.

Students transferring to the Shady Grove campus may apply up to 60 credits from their previous two year institutions.

Admission to the Biological Sciences Program is competitive and limited to the most qualified students who meet the requirements for admission. It is it is highly recommended that students from two year institutions earn an Associate's Degree for best consideration for admission in to the Program. Note that the Program will no longer be admitting students in the spring semesters. Students will only be considered for admission for the fall semesters.
